Join MTSU Theatre for its production of The Giver, running Thursday, Feb. 16 through Sunday, Feb. 19 in Tucker Theatre.
Department of theatre and dance assistant professor Alicia Fuss directs the production about a boy facing his role as keeper of the memories of his utopian community. With an 11-member cast, the show is an adaptation of the Newberry Medal-winning young adult novel of the same name by Lois Lowry.
About The Giver
The Giver follows the discoveries of 12-year-old Jonas, whose world is under control and safe, without war or fear or pain. Each person is assigned a role in the community — whether they like it or not.
Jonas is chosen by to be the new collector and keeper of the community’s memories, and he begins to learn the truths of their world.
Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 – 18 and 2 p.m. for the Feb. 19 matinee. MTSU students, faculty and staff can attend free by presenting a current university ID at the box office.
