Nashville Christian School is proud to announce the ribbon cutting and dedication of the Campbell Family Event Center and “The Jake” gymnasium. These state-of-the-art facilities are set to enhance our students’ educational and extracurricular experiences.
The Campbell Family Event Center, a 1,600-seat gymnasium, will be a central hub for school events, athletic competitions, and community gatherings. Designed with functionality and sustainability, the center features a large storm shelter to accommodate the entire NCS community, locker rooms, coaching staff offices, training rooms, a dedicated spirit store space, and concessions areas. An additional outdoor area is also being developed to accommodate a beautifully designed courtyard for activities and student socializing.
Integral to this development is the Student Success Center, a dedicated space to provide students with the resources and support they need to excel academically and personally. The center offers tutoring services, counseling, and various programs designed to foster student growth and achievement for all students, specifically those in the LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone) program.
The gymnasium, affectionately named “The Jake,” honors Jake Campbell, a distinguished alumnus and dedicated Nashville Christian School staff member. Jake’s journey from student to Office and Athletic Assistant embodies the school’s mission to equip students to be global leaders. Jake’s mother shared, “In my heart, no one represents NCS sports better than Jake. With his love for the games, the kids, and the school, he is truly an NCS Eagle. If everyone loved, cared, and had the same positive outlook on everything and everyone as Jake does, the world would be a better place. If the kids take even a little bit of Jake with them, the world will be a better place.” Jake has been, and continues to be, one of NCS’s biggest fans. He knows everything there is to know about our athletic programs and students, making him an integral part of the school community.
Reflecting on the significance of this milestone, Head of School Connie Jo Shelton stated, “This is a unique moment in Nashville Christian School’s history—a time that has been years in the making. The capital campaign projects will build a legacy for our children, our community, and future generations of students.”
The ‘Launching a Legacy’ Capital Campaign continues to fund these initiatives and future projects, including Phase 2, renovating the Gibson Building and adding additional classrooms. The school community is encouraged to continue supporting the Annual Fund while investing in the school’s future through the capital campaign.
