Where Every Family Matters

Unlocking Opportunities for Neurodivergent Minds

How Redwood Literacy is helping students with dyslexia and learning differences build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and rediscover a love of learning.

For many families, literacy struggles can feel overwhelming. Questions like “Why is reading still this hard?” or “Why does homework end in tears?” often leave parents searching for answers and support that truly works.

Redwood Literacy was created to help students and families navigate those challenges with confidence, compassion, and research-based intervention.

Founded by Kait Feriante and Andre Feriante, Redwood Literacy exists so that students with literacy struggles can access their dreams, regardless of socioeconomic background or learning differences. Through personalized support, Redwood helps students dramatically improve literacy skills while rebuilding confidence and restoring hope.

Redwood specializes in supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive functioning challenges, and academic confidence struggles.

Their expert intervention specialists use evidence-based curriculum and individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique strengths, goals, and learning profile.

Since 2018, Redwood has supported more than 3,000 students nationwide, with 91% of students demonstrating documented academic progress. Redwood is also proud to serve as a research partner with Johns Hopkins University and has received recognition through the National Student Support Accelerator tutoring program.

What sets Redwood apart is its commitment to treating every family with individualized care and attention. Families can access flexible online tutoring, as well as in-person intervention programs, assessments, and parent support services, designed to foster meaningful, long-term academic growth.

Redwood currently offers in-person services in Chicago, with programming designed to provide students with not only academic support but also a sense of belonging and confidence. Their team believes literacy intervention should support the whole child, helping students feel empowered both inside and outside the classroom.

In addition to direct student support, Redwood provides Academic Clarity Plans, dyslexia screenings, assessments, and practical parent guidance to help families better understand their child’s learning needs and next steps.

At the heart of Redwood’s mission is a belief that literacy support should be accessible, empowering, and deeply human. By cultivating optimism, transparency, sustainability, equity, and results-driven support, Redwood continues to help students chart new paths forward in literacy and learning.
