A sweet and gentle concert for families is happening Sunday, May 12 at the Schermerhorn.

“The Unicorn’s Birthday” (Sunday, May 12), is a gentle and friendly composition by Grammy-nominated Bob Singleton. It’s a family friendly birthday celebration filled with music, narration, sounds, on-stage activity, projection graphics and friendly audience interactivity.

Nashville Symphony Family Series: “The Unicorn’s Birthday”

Hear, see and imagine as the Nashville Symphony presents a musical world of friendly penguins, monkeys, ducks and other animals celebrating the Unicorn’s birthday. The concert, conducted by Nathan Aspinall, is perfect for those who are OK with moderate audience activity during the performance. There will be a visit from the Birthday Unicorn, and the concert finishes with the audience conducting with the Unicorn!
The concert is sensory friendly and offers accommodations for those on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities.

“The Unicorn’s Birthday” tickets start at $20. Pre-concert fun begins at 2 p.m. with family friendly crafts and an interactive instrument petting zoo. The concert starts at 3 p.m. The Schemerhorn Symphony Center is located at One Symphony Place in Nashville. Learn more and get tickets here.
