Nashville Children’s Theatre (NCT) turns 85 this year, and as the oldest professional children’s theater in the United States, it continues its mission since 1931 “to provide extraordinary theatrical experiences to youth, families and adults.”
NCT recently announced its 2106-17 season, and its the culmination of several milestones. Among them, NCT has produced more than 391 plays and musicals which have entertained five generations of Nashvillians. In addition, TIME Magazine ranked NCT as one of the top four children’s theaters in the nation.
“NCT is a cultural touchstone for generations of children who have grown up in Middle Tennessee,” says Dan Brewer, NCT Acting Artist Director. “The ripples from our work have been felt and noted throughout the country and around the world, but our focus is — as it always has been — on service to the children and families who make up this community. The variety of our 2016-17 season is a fantastic example of this service,” he adds.
