Where Every Family Matters

New at Zoo Ice Day

Cool off with a day of frozen fun at Nashville Zoo that includes a new area just for Mom!

Chill out from the swelter of July’s heat at the Nashville Zoo during its annual Ice Day family outing. Presented by ICEE, your family can get soaked on inflatable water slides, take a stroll through a snowy tent, dig in to a variety of ice cream samples, enjoy face painting, experience special keeper talks, explore rides and more.

Have a blast watching the animals enjoy their frozen counterparts (in the form of ice sculptures). One of the main events during Ice Day is the Ice Cream Eating Contest. There are five time slots this year, including two for parents: ages 8 – 12 (12:30 & 12:45 p.m.), ages 13 – 18 (1 p.m.) and ages 19 and older (1:15 & 1:30 p.m.). Each contest includes a total of 20 participants; register at the event (first come, first served).

NOTE: The new “Mom Spot” this year features diaper-changing stations and a privacy tent for nursing mothers.

Ice Day takes place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is included with Zoo admission ($16 adults, $11 ages 2 – 12); a few activities require minimal additional fees.

Nashville Zoo is located at 3777 Nolensville Road, Nashville. Call 615-833-1534 or visit nashvillezoo.org.
