More about BIRTH: A Father and Son Journey
THE SON:
Christian Calvin spent his entire career in retail. At 43, after the business sold, he started tapping into his creativity. He painted on canvases, cardboard, cereal boxes — anything he could get his hands on. Early success and attention on his art came from the community with purchases and donation requests. Calvin displays his work in the Calvin Gallery located at 811 Meadowlark Lane in Goodlettsville, Tenn.
THE FATHER:
Brownie Calvin owned and operated a retail chain for 31 years in Nashville. After selling the business, he began creating “CALBOTS” — robots made from objects, old parts and metal. Brownie has re-invigorated his childhood artistic ability as a form of therapy and a way of bonding with his son, Christian.
