The City of Murfreesboro and State Transportation officials, along with elected officers, will gather to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Murfreesboro Transit Center.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at the intersection of New Salem Hwy and Bridge Ave (324 New Salem Hwy).

The City of Murfreesboro has been awarded $9 million in Tennessee Improve Act funds in three separate awards from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) for the Murfreesboro Transit Center. The City received bids in August for the construction phase of the project and was awarded to Franklin-based Rock City Construction.
