You don’t have to be on a field trip with the school to tour the Nissan plant in Smyrna. Free public tours of the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. However, it’s only for ages 10 and older. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Request a tour for your group or even family at least four weeks in advance of your visit. It does sometimes take them a few weeks to get back to you, too. To request a tour, call 615-459-1444 or e-mail nissansmyrnapublictours@nissan-usa.com. When you get your tour request confirmation, an email is sent with detailed instructions about when to arrive, parking, attire and their policy that prohibits cameras and recording devices of all types. Please don’t arrive on any given day to tour. They also can’t fulfill requests on short notice.
