Where Every Family Matters

NOW OPEN: “Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab”

Head to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro so your kids can explore all kinds of fun exhibits.

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring opens its newest traveling exhibit, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab Saturday, September 14. This new exhibit brings science and fun together, offering interactive STEM activities for all ages and runs until January 12.

Created by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in collaboration with Genius Brands International, Inc., this immersive and educational exhibit is inspired by Genius Brands’ popular animated series.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab to the Discovery Center,” said Tara MacDougall, President and CEO of the Discovery Center. “This exhibit blends education and entertainment to inspire children and families to learn through play. We hope this exhibit will not only be a hit with our visitors but also serve as an educational tool that encourages a lifelong interest in STEM fields.”

The exhibit features characters from the animated series, including Thomas Edison and his group of friends, as they tackle various scientific challenges and solve problems using different scientific principles. Featuring Next Generation Science Standards and other curriculum-based guidelines, visitors will have the chance to operate classic six simple machines, explore a giant interactive periodic table of elements, delve into the basics of coding and more.
