Opry to Celebrate “Forrest Gump” 30th Anniversary

Celebrate the movie with performances by Mandy Barnett, The Gatlin Brothers, the movie's producer and many others.

The home of America’s music will celebrate the Forrest Gump 30th Anniversary on Sunday, July 28 at the Grand Ole Opry House.

This special Opry performance features Mandy Barnett, The Gatlin Brothers, Jamey Johnson, Gary LeVox, Scotty McCreery and others. Additionally, the show includes the Opry debut of actor/humanitarian Gary Sinise with The Lt. Dan Band performing songs from the Forrest Gump soundtrack. In addition, the movie’s producer, Academy Award-winner Wendy Finerman, and actor Mykelti Williamson (Bubba in the film), will be announcers. Prior to the show, the Opry will host a Forrest Gump-themed Plaza Party with music from the soundtrack, photo ops and more.

Opry to Celebrate “Forrest Gump” 30th Anniversary

Forrest Gump premiered on July 6, 1994 and became a global blockbuster. The picture won six Academy Awards including Best Picture. The film’s soundtrack features acclaimed music by The Byrds, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley and others.

Exclusive Post-Show Event

For the full experience, fans can purchase an exclusive post-show ticket package. This ticket includes a show ticket, post-show ticket, commemorative poster and more. The post-show event features a Q&A Forrest Gump discussion with Gary Sinise, plus photo ops on the park bench seen in the film. Package proceeds will benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF), which supports our country’s veterans, first responders, heroes and defenders.
