Where Every Family Matters

Parent Seminar at Brentwood Academy

Daystar Ministries counselors David Thomas, Melissa Trevathan and Sissy Goff hold speaking events throughout the year. Next up: “Modern Parents, Vintage Values” on Wednesday, March 2 at Brentwood Academy.

“Wow, that sucks!” What do you do besides wince when your son learns a phrase at school that you don’t allow him to say at home?
How do you teach your kids not to be fearful while being reasonably cautious?
In the world of entitled kids, how do you teach gratitude?
Good parents wrestle with these parenting issues daily, but parenting experts from Daystar Counseling Ministries can help during “Modern Parents, Vintage Values,” a free parent seminar open to the public, taking place Wednesday, March 2 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the seventh grade building at Brentwood Academy (BA), 219 Granny White Pike in Brentwood.
In current day culture, good parenting’s under siege, so parents need tools. Daystar counselors Sissy Goff (sought-after parenting speaker and author in addition to co-author of the book Modern Parents, Vintage Values), David Thomas (best-selling author of Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys) and Melissa Trevathan (Daystar’s founder in addition to being the head of spiritual life at BA and co-author of Modern Parents, Vintage Values) will focus on addressing nine values in your kids: kindness, integrity, manners, compassion, forgiveness, responsibility, gratitude, patience and confidence. Learn more about the speakers along with other future speaking events at Daystar.
