Parks & Rec Holds Children’s Theatre Auditions This May

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) will hold auditions for two children’s theatre productions in May. 

Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.

WCPR’s children’s theatre program, Rising Stars, will be accepting video audition submissions for their summer production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. through Saturday, May 15, 2021. Auditions are open to current Kindergarten through 8th Grade students. Due to social distancing protocols, a total of 20 children will be cast in the production. Rehearsals will start in June with performances scheduled in July.

Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com

While the Lights Were Out

Straight to the Stars, Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s high school theatrical group for rising freshmen through graduating seniors, will be holding in-person auditions for While the Lights Were Out at the  Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd., on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A maximum of 15 roles will be cast. Rehearsals will start May 24, and performances will be held June 25-26, 2021.

“While the Lights Were Out” is presented by arrangement with concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.
