More and more adults β including parents of young children β are going back to school to obtain their college degree. Whether you’re one of them or just want a good excuse to get some healthy exercise while supporting a good cause, you can help Volunteer State Community College raise awareness for adult college degree completion by hopping on your bike and pedaling in The Cap and Gown Ride.
Sumner Parent sponsors The Cap and Gown Ride that also raises scholarship funds through Vol State. It takes place Saturday, May 13, and there are three routes: 15, 33 and 63 miles. Registration is $40 in advance, $45 May 12 & 13.
The rides start and finish at the collegeβs Pickel Field House parking lot (1480 Nashville Pike, Gallatin). Rides depart at 8, 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.
The event is open to all ages, and there will be food, music and family activities before and after the rides.
