Here’s something local kids can take a swing at: First Tee of Middle Tennessee. Nashville-area kids ages 8 – 18 can learn the game of golf through this unique program. Furthermore, they’ll pick up some important life skills while on the golf course.
The spring 2017 session runs Thursdays, March 9 – May 11 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. or Saturdays, March 11 – May 13 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Registration deadline is Monday, March 6.
Nine Core Values of First Tee
The program uses a unique Junior Golf & Life Skills curriculum that helps young people learn to manage emotions while teaching them how to resolve conflicts and how to effectively communicate with others. The First Tee program focuses on nine core values: honesty, respect, perseverance, integrity, confidence, courtesy, sportsmanship, responsibility and judgment.
Instruction takes place at the VinnyLinks Golf Course, 2009 Sevier St., Nashville. Cost is $55 for nine sessions.
