Ah, the magic of “new!” As Middle Tennessee continues to grow with new businesses and more, there are a lot of exciting things to know for the year ahead. Be in the know for what’s new and opening soon in the Nashville area.

SLICK CITY ACTION PARK NASHVILLE, an indoor action park with dry slides, air courts and attractions for all ages. The park opens this month inside Opry Mills. You’ll be able to purchase 90 or 120-minute sessions, and junior tickets for ages 3 and older.

The Tiger Woods-backed golf entertainment concept PopStroke opened its new mini golf venue at the end of December.

Tiger Woods’ POP STROKE NASHVILLE is now open at 4221 Century Farms Terrace in Antioch. It features five massive jumbotrons, three 18-hole putting courses, indoor and outdoor games, a playground and a two-story restaurant and bar.

The new Windy Hill Park is now open in Brentwood, including a playground, walking paths with plenty of benches and more.

WINDY HILL PARK  is now open in Brentwood at 9133 Old Smyrna Road. The 52-acre passive park includes walking trails, scenic views and a playground. The design of the park leans into the property’s aviation history.

ASCENSION ST. THOMAS LANDING PARK (THE LANDING) is now open in Nashville Yards at 131 10th Ave. N in Nashville. Spanning from the Pinnacle Tower to Broadway, the new park includes a dog park, tiered amphitheater, pop up retail, two fire pits, urban farming, and more. Under Broadway, The Landing features pickleball courts, mini golf and the Alligator Bar inside Dinkville Under Broad.

CRUSH YARD BRENTWOOD, set to open in early 2026, this new pickleball mecca will be located in the heart of Brentwood, at 330 Franklin Road, Brentwood. The 33,400-square-foot space will feature eight indoor pickleball courts, a gourmet restaurant and full bar and special activities and camps for kids.

Complete with costumes, props, and several themed areas, this exhibit encourages role-playing and collaboration for both kids and their grown-ups.

THE AMAZING CASTLE exhibit, a traveling medieval-themed play space for kids ages 4  – 8, opens January 17 at the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center (SOAC). The exhibit includes activities like gardening, blacksmithing and cooking. SOAC, located at 100 Sam Ridley Parkway, will open the exhibit from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for all ages.

KIDSTRONG is opening in early 2026 in West Nashville (3726 Annex Ave, Nashville). It’s a kid’s training program focused on physical skills, confidence and social development. Classes are coach-led, age-specific and designed to build skills progressively. Per the website: ”KidStrong is a science-based kids training program that builds strong, confident and high-character kids.”

Storyland is a new, interactive exhibit for children opening on January 24 at the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring.

STORLYAND: A TRIP THROUGH CHILDHOOD FAVORITES is a traveling exhibit coming to the second floor of The Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. It opens on Saturday, January 24 and will be there through May 3, 2026. The exhibit lets kids step inside stories like ”The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” “The Snowy Day” and “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.”

LITTLE DIGGERS NASHVILLE, being touted as “Nashville’s biggest sandbox,” is opening in the winter of 2026. Little Diggers will bring 1,200 square feet of clean sand designed for kids age 7 and younger to dig, build and imagine. The space will feature construction-themed toys and more. Parents will be able to enjoy comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi and a front row view of the fun. The location is soon to be announced.

MUSIC SIPPY SOCIAL, a new indoor play spot for kids and parents is now open at 4825 Trousdale Dr., STE 234-235 in Nashville. Book a reservation online or in person for a play session. Started by parents of three young children, a one-hour open play pass is $8; two-hour is $20 and an additional sibling is $15.

Eat, Shop, Help

The FRANKLIN FARMER’S MARKET is now located at the Franklin First United Methodist Church (FFUMC) Main Campus, located at 120 Aldersgate Way. The new location will be opened year round every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

In November, 2025, the Nashville Predator’s Foundation partnered with Kaboom to refurbish the old playground at Andrew Jackson Courts’ public housing complex.

A new kid-designed playground is now open behind the Boys and Girls Club on Jackson Street in Nashville. The community-built play space was led by the Nashville Predators Foundation and KABOOM, the national nonprofit that builds play spaces in underserved neighborhoods.

IN-N-OUT BURGER, the popular hamburger chain based in Irvine, CA, is open in Lebanon, Antioch and Murfreesboro. A fourth location in Berry Farms will be opening soon.

THE STORE, the free grocery store co-founded by Brad and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, is expanding to a second location at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Set to open in early 2026, the new location will significantly increasing capacity and add clothing assistance, with plans for a third location in the future.

Ring in the New: Arts!

As far as the arts go, there are lots of shows to take kids to in 2026, for a start: The Gruffalo at the Nashville Symphony on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. It’s about a clever mouse who invents a monster to scare off predators in the deep dark wood, only to find the monster is real and he must use his wits to escape.  There’s also Disney’s Frozen Live IN CONCERT, also with the Symphony (Jan. 22); Dinosaur World Live (Feb. 11 at TPAC); and Sesame Street Live at The Fisher Center on June 21. At Nashville Children’s Theatre, new shows include: Bingo’s Birthday (opening January 31). And Seussical (opening April 11).
