Dance is a great way to instill a love of movement in young kids. The Children's Division of the School of Nashville Ballet offers five select class offerings to kids ages 2 – 8. The spring semester begins Monday, Jan. 13, and enrollment is now underway.
Here's something extra fun: All kids who enroll in the spring children's classes by Dec. 2 will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the opportunity to present flowers to the Sugar Plum Fairy during the curtain call at a performance of Nashville's Nutcracker.

MOMMY & ME

This parent/tot class builds coordination and rhythm while introducing children to movement, music and creative play.

This class aims to foster a natural inclination for movement by developing control, coordination, gross motor skills, creativity and expressiveness while helping young dancers understand their bodies and how they relate to space.

Boys Club explores the athletic side of dance. Boys burn energy as they march, gallop, kick, punch and leap their way to imaginary lands filled with superheroes, pirates and knights. Each child learns musicality, rhythm and coordination while developing an appreciation for active lifestyles and healthy habits.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

In this class, students develop a greater sense of confidence and self-esteem within an environment that encourages expressiveness and joy of movement. Children learn increased control and coordination in their movements. They also enhance their listening, cooperation and social skills in a nurturing environment.
