Scout Programs at Alcatraz East

The fascinating crime museum in Pigeon Forge rolls out special programs and appreciation days for Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts this year.

Both Boy and Girl Scout troops can experience a variety of fun this year just for them at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge. The museum — that takes visitors on a unique journey into the history of American crime, crime solving and our country's justice system — has a lineup of special events just for Scouts. Troop leaders, take note and consider organizing a fun out-of-town group adventure with your Scouts.

“We are always excited to host events and activities for scouting troops,” says Rachael Penman, director of artifacts and exhibits at Alcatraz East Crime Museum. “The events offer the troops a chance to bond, learn and have some fun. We have programs that give them a chance to explore and earn badges, too,” she adds.

BOY SCOUT APPRECIATION DAYS

Boy Scout Appreciation Days take place Feb. 8 – 9 and March 14 – 15. On these days, all Boy Scouts who visit the attraction in their scouting uniforms or provide proof of Scout membership will receive a discounted admission rate of $12 (plus tax). The rate also applies to Troop leaders, chaperones or other attendees accompanying a Scout. Boy Scouts who attend will receive a special Alcatraz East participation badge.
