Growing up, it was nice to take a trip over to the mall with my family and spend a little time in the arcade. It was what all the kids loved to do. Nowadays, if you can’t make it to the big one in Nashville, a good arcade with retro games is hard to come by. That is … until the last few years. Game Galaxy Arcade has been slowly adding locations over the area and Rutherford County is getting one, too!
Game Galaxy Arcade is set to open by Saturday, Sept. 3 in Smyrna and they’ll be open from 12 – 10 p.m. that day. Ages 6 and older only have to pay $7 for one hour of play on any of the systems available (it’s just $10 per person all day if you choose to hang out).
“I decided to open a location in Smyrna because I want people in the area to enjoy classic arcade and pinball machines at a low rate,” says Smyrna resident and owner Jason Wilson. “It fills a lack of entertainment options void that has been glaring in Smyrna for quite some time,” he adds.
Game Galaxy Arcade is located at 3 S. Lowry St. Hours are Mon – Thu 12 – 9 p.m., Fri – Sat 12 – 10 p.m. and Sun 12 – 8 p.m.
