Smyrna Parks Family Events in June

Enjoy a "Family Float" at Jefferson Spring on June 9, two "June in the Creek" dates, a Mars Robotics camp and more!

The Town of Smyrna Parks & Recreation Department always has fun family events up its sleeves, and this June is no different!

Here’s what’s on deck for Smyrna families this June:

Location: Jefferson Springs Recreation Area, Smyrna, TN
Time: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.      
Cost: $10/hour for kayaks and $15/hour for canoes and paddleboards 
Ages: 5 and up.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Come out to Jefferson Springs Recreation Area to rent kayaks and canoes on the water’s edge! Rentals are hourly and include options for kayaks, canoes, and even paddleboards. Lifejackets and paddles will be provided.

Location: Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center, 100 Sam Ridley Pkwy E.
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Cost: $2 per person
Wizards and warriors of all alignments are invited to gear up for a high fantasy adventure at the SOAC. Learn the basics of tabletop roleplaying, explore classic high fantasy skills like archery and alchemy and celebrate the expansive world of fantasy!

Location: Sharp Springs Natural Area, 1000 Espey Drive – Shelter C (E.A. Victory Shelter)
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Cost: $2 per person
Ages: 5 and up. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 
Join for an afternoon on the water. Boats, PFD’s, and paddles provided; sunscreen and bug spray recommended; bring a bottle of water and wear proper clothing that can get wet – including closed-toe shoes or sandals firmly adhered to the foot, that can get wet. Please, no flip flops.

Community Volleyball Games
June 14th  

Location: Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center lawn, 100 Sam Ridley Pkwy E.
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Come to the SOAC sand courts for community volleyball games! Bring your team of 4 to play or join other teammates when you arrive. Teams will have a chance to score some fantastic freebies and prizes. Teams will be organized at the start of the program.

Location: Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center 100 Sam Ridley Pkwy E.
Time: 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $30
Ages: 8 – 13
Use dc motors, gears, axles, switches and mainboards to build robots ready to explore Mars! RoboThink will be on site with robotics designs that include Ingenuity, Ecks Wing and the Perseverance Mars Rover.

Hours and Admission:

  • Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Adults (ages 13 and older):  $7
  • Children (ages 3 – 12):  $5
  • Children under age 3 are admitted free of charge
