This is the best town to grow up in for kids with songwriting and other musical aspirations, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s rolling out a brand-new offering for young, aspiring writers.
The Songwriting Lab pairs aspiring young writers with professional songwriters during a week-long workshop. Kids can build on existing skills while gaining new know-how through one-on-one mentoring, performance coaching, instrument instruction and more.
At the end of the week, participants will perform their original works during a showcase in the museum’s Taylor Swift Education Center.
The Songwriting Lab takes place June 13 – 18 for ages 11 – 18. The lab meets from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cost is $200 museum members, $250 non-members; a limited number of scholarships are available.
Registration deadline is Friday, May 13 with full payment due by Friday, May 20. For more info, call 615-416-2001 or visit countrymusichalloffame.org/songwritinglab.
