The biggest and most spectacular of Middle Tennessee’s fairs, the Wilson County Fair, takes place Aug. 18 – 26 in Lebanon, and there’s something special in the works for local families with special needs.
SPECIAL NEEDS DAY
On Saturday, Aug. 19, Regions Bank along with Wilson County Promotions, Empower Me Center, The Shriner’s and Amuseuments of America offer FREE ADMISSION to special needs attendees and up to two family members or accompanying staff. Special Needs Day will begin at 9 a.m. that Saturday.
In addition to free admission, individuals with special needs and two guests will receive complimentary armbands for rides on the Wilson County Fair Midway. Fair staff will modify select rides between 10 am. – 12 p.m. to meet the needs of individuals.
You must register with Empower Me Center by Wednesday, Aug. 16 secure the free tickets. You’ll also receive all details and instructions about Special Needs Day. You can submit forms via snail mail, e-mail or fax. No phone registrations will be taken, and registration is required in order to attend.
If the special needs individual has more than two family members or accompanying medical staff who want to attend, they can purchase tickets at the check-in booth. Cost is $12 ages 13 and older, $6 ages 6 – 12, free ages 5 and younger. Ride stamps are also available for purchase for accompanying guests.
