Turn a typical Tuesday into a terrific Tuesday by heading to the downtown library. In the heart of Music City, a wonderment of adventure awaits your child on the second floor of the library. Stories & More!
Sadie enjoys a coloring activity after a story time at the Main Library in Nashville.
From wall climbing and an arts and craft room to a full-sized indoor playground, your child will be engaged for hours. On this particular Tuesday, my little one and I headed to the library for their Story Time program.
If you plan to "anchor" your journey to the library with Story Time, I would call ahead, as the program is subject to seasonal change. Once inside the Story Time theater located in the back of the library, you're free to choose your own seat; my toddler and I sat on the floor while others took seats around us or on the benches located on the edges of the theater.
The Library is stroller friendly, but they do ask that you leave them outside the theater. During the show you'll sing together, enjoy some whimsical juggling, hear a story, and meet marvelous characters (human and puppet alike!) like the Professor, Library Pete, Mary Mary and JJ.
Parents, get ready for all the feels of nostalgia for your Mr. Roger's Neighborhood days. These shows are recommended for ages 0 – 6, but all ages are welcome and free to enjoy in the merriment.
Parking is free for 90 minutes, and running time is roughly 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time enjoy all the main library has to offer. Let the library be your ally in encouraging your child to see a book beyond the pages with this interactive story time.
