Spring’s popular fruit, the strawberry, is ripe for the plucking come May, and kids love to go berry picking at local farms. Harvest time for strawberries is May through mid-June before the blast of summer delights you’ll also find at area patches. Blackberries and blueberries are ready to pick mid-July through August, and you can get raspberries July through September.
Most farms charge by the pound, and be sure to call ahead as hours vary throughout the picking season. Don’t forget your berry buckets and sunscreen!
