Children in Middle Tennessee who are grieving the loss of a parent, friend or other loved one kind find support through a summer camp opportunity happening this month.
ALIVE HOSPICE SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS
Alive Hospice, the local nonprofit providing end-of-life care, palliative care, bereavement support and community education, hosts a summer camp. Camp Forget-Me-Not is for kids ages 6 – 14. They are open to any child grieving a loss and are not limited to those whose family members were Alive Hospice patients. During the Alive Hospice Summer Camp experiences, kids will gather in small groups to process their feelings, learn about healthy ways to cope and grieve, and remember their loved ones. Fun time is also a part of the process. Activities include arts and crafts, water fun, games, nature hikes and more.
