Where Every Family Matters

Support Mary’s Magical Place

Help support the building of a new playground in Hendersonville where all children can gather and play.

It’s not going to be just any playground. Mary’s Magical Place, in honor of the late 14-year-old Mary McAuley who had cerebral palsy, will be an all-inclusive and interactive playground for disabled children, adults and veterans in Hendersonville. The playground will be designed around, but not limited to, children with special needs. Everyone from able-bodied to wheelchair-bound can come and play. It’s a dream that is soon to be a reality with your help. Here’s how:

Golf Ball Drop
Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.
Parents, you can purchase a ball drop raffle ticket and your numbered ball will be dropped from a significant height (at Veterans Park) with a chance of landing into one of three holes to win a prize (you don’t have to be present to win). There will also be drawings for other prizes, too. Tickets are $20 each.

Hendersonville Half Marathon
Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 a.m.
Register to participate in this inaugural 13.1-mile course with proceeds benefiting Mary’s Magical Place taking place at the Streets of Indian Lake. Cost is $65 until online registration closes, $80 day of.

Mary’s Magical Place is set to be built at Veterans Park (224 Scotch St., Hendersonville). Learn more at
