Tennessee Tempo FC was born from the vision of Gift Ndam—a former refugee who first discovered hope through a handmade soccer ball in a Benin refugee camp. His journey led him to the U.S., where he earned degrees in Information Technology, Master of Art in Theology, Master of Divinity (MDiv), and Business (MBA), and became a U.S. Soccer–licensed coach (Premier License). These experiences inspired him to create a club rooted in faith, education, and opportunity.

In July 2025, Tennessee Tempo’s UPSL U18 men’s team etched their names into history by capturing the UPSL National Championship—a milestone that reflects the club’s mission to build both elite athletes and strong leaders. For many of these young men, the championship win represents perseverance under the Tempo FC philosophy of combining faith, education, and soccer.
“This title is bigger than soccer—it’s about showing our players that with faith, discipline and opportunity, their dreams can become reality,” Head Coach Ndam, who also managed the championship squad, shared. “Our U18s didn’t just win for themselves; they won for every young player in our academy who now believes they can reach the same heights.”
Now based in Murfreesboro, the club fields competitive men’s and women’s teams in the UPSL and WPSL and runs a thriving youth academy serving players from U6 to U19—led by former pros and nationally licensed coaches.

From humble beginnings, the club now supports over 15 teams, offering access to quality soccer and mentorship for players looking to master their craft. The men’s team recently finished the Spring 2025 UPSL regular season with a 9‑1‑0 record, scoring 48 goals. The women’s team is building momentum in the WPSL with rising regional recognition.
Developing Future Leaders Through Soccer
At the heart of Tennessee Tempo FC is a youth development model built to do more than win soccer games—it builds great people. Through a deliberate and focused mentorship approach that combines elite training with life skills players gain confidence on and off the field. Training sessions emphasize on field tactical awareness, discipline, and teamwork, while also creating space for that discipline to carry forward those skills learned for academic success and leadership opportunities as our players grow with the club.
Our club partners with families to ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation. Scholarship programs and faith-based mentorship give young athletes a foundation to thrive, especially those from underserved communities. Weekly “Character & Culture” sessions incorporate values like respect, perseverance, and integrity, ensuring players grow in both skill and spirit.
Many of Tempo’s youth have advanced to college programs or regional development squads—testament to the club’s commitment to long-term player development. From first touches at age six to collegiate recruitment, Tennessee Tempo nurtures each player’s potential every step of the way.
