Pictured above: This “Bright Nosed Rudolph” card designed by 14-year-old Sarah includes the interior greeting “Be merry and bright in this holiday season.” When she was 10, Sarah was admitted to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt because her appendix burst. Sarah and her parents remember being comforted by calm and experienced doctors and nurses during Sarah’s appendectomy and intestinal obstruction surgery. Today, forever grateful for the care she received, Sarah participates in multiple hospital fundraising projects, including modeling in the Friends & Fashion event.
Your 2016 Christmas greetings can have more meaning this year by purchasing them through the Friends of Children’s Hospital’s Holiday Project. The fundraiser for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt includes cards, tags and special gifts all boasting original artwork designed by patients at the hospital.
Basic card sets with pre-printed interior greetings are $20 per box of 20 cards/envelopes. Choose from several designs, and if you can’t make up your mind, you can opt for two different variety packs that contain four cards each of five different designs. For additional fees, you can order cards with personal greetings and signatures.
This year’s special Holiday Project gifts include Bongo Java coffee, cookie tins from Christie Cookies, Paper Doll Pasta, spicy cheese bites from Willa’s Shortbread and ornaments from The Attic.
All online orders must be placed by Friday, Dec. 16. You can also buy the full line of Holiday Project items at local retailers like The Friends Shop (inside Children’s Hospital), Barnes & Noble, Katy’s Hallmark, Phillips Toy Mart, Hot Pink, You’re Invited and others (find the full list online).
