About We Rock the Spectrum
We Rock the Spectrum is a franchise opportunity that provides sensory-safe play for kids with autism, special needs and neurotypical development.
Each gym features twelve pieces of therapeutic equipment designed to work with many of the sensory processing issues that children on the spectrum face, while providing all children with the sensory-diet necessary for improved learning and neurological development.
For example, the zip line helps children with vestibular sensations and sensory feedback, while allowing them to better develop upper-arm and core strength. Each We Rock the Spectrum location offers unique classes, children’s day camp opportunities, arts and crafts, additional pieces of play equipment and more.
About the new owners
Kavita and Vikas Jain are the new owners of We Rock the Spectrum – Nashville/Madison. They are the proud parents of two boys – Abir, their 11-year-old who is on the autism spectrum, and Ranveer, their 5-year-old who is neurotypical. As is the case with many special needs parents, Kavita and Vikas’ life took a dramatic turn even before Abir’s birth. They discovered that he had a cleft lip and would need multiple surgeries well into adulthood.
Soon after he was born though, cleft was the least of their worries. Abir was not meeting any of his developmental milestones and had a lot of medical complications. Needless to say, Kavita’s career took a back seat and the family’s lives became devoted to providing Abir with the help he needed to be the best version of himself. In 2018, the Jain’s moved to Nashville and discovered that there were not many quality indoor spaces for children in general in the area.
They began considering opening one of their own but COVID abruptly halted these plans. In May 2021, Kavita came across an article about We Rock the Spectrum and decided to take a closer look. Kavita and Vikas both come from entrepreneurial families and Kavita has always dreamed of opening up a business that satisfied both personal and professional goals. We Rock the Spectrum was the perfect fit.
“It’s been my dream to open a kid’s play area, and having the opportunity to open one where both my kids, (one who has special needs and one who is neurotypical) feel equally welcome is more than I could ever ask for,” said Kavita.
