Summer’s a great time for ducking into a movie theater to beat the heat! These six movies coming out this summer include live action, animation and new technologies, too.  Mark your summer to-do calendars for fun with the kids at the movies and check out the trailers, too.

Six Summer of 2025 Movies for Kids

Lilo & Stitch (May 23, 2025)

Why kids will love it:  This live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch brings back the heart, the chaos, and the cosmic cuteness. It’s a nostalgia trip wrapped in hugs, laughter and family vibes.

Karate Kid: Legends (May 30, 2025)

Why kids will love it:A fresh crew of martial arts newbies is stepping onto the mat to learn discipline, resilience, and a whole lot of crane kicks. Perfect for families who grew up with the originals — or for parents on a mission to prove that ‘80s movies are still totally awesome.

 

Elio (June 13, 2025)

Why kids will love it: Pixar’s blasting off again — and they’re aiming right for the heart. This time, it’s an out-of-this-world adventure starring an 11-year-old who accidentally becomes Earth’s ambassador (oops?).

 

How to Train Your Dragon (June 13, 2025)

Why parents will love it: A live-action reimagining of the beloved animated franchise, this brings the heartwarming tale of Hiccup and Toothless back to the big screen. Expect breathtaking visuals, soaring dragon flights, and all the emotions of the original—just in a new, more cinematic form.
