‘Dolly: A True Original Musical’ is Headed to Broadway

The show is set to officially open January 19, 2027, on Parton’s 81st birthday.

The Queen of Country’s life story is officially headed to the big stage. Dolly Parton’s DOLLY: A True Original Musical will begin performances in December at the St. James Theatre in New York City. General ticket sales begin on Friday, July 10.

The show debuted at Belmont’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville last August and is set to officially open January 19, 2027, on Parton’s 81st birthday.

“My whole life has been a musical. A grand ole opera really and I can’t wait to present it to you on Broadway,” says Parton in a statement. ”I hope you enjoy watching as much as I’ve enjoyed livin’ it.”

The biomusical features a book by Parton and will include some of her biggest hits, along with new songs written for the production. Casting for the Broadway production has not yet been announced.

Tickets for Dolly fans and eligible Capital One cardholders go on sale July 8.  For more information, visit dollymusical.com.
