Saturday, Sept. 14's gonna be a big day in Sumner County if your family loves bluegrass music. Both Hendersonville and Gallatin have bluegrass festivities offering family fun.

Music and food come together during the Grit, Grace & Grub Food and Bluegrass Festival. It's a progressive-style event, meaning there are several stops to enjoy the fun versus it all happening at one destination. You purchase a "passport" in advance, which incudes a map and your tickets to all participating music locations and restaurants. The passport is $25, and you can purchase it HERE. You'll pick up your passport between 1 – 4 p.m. on the day of the event at the Gallatin Farmers' Market (160 W. Franklin St.). The festival runs from 3 – 7 p.m. For more info, contact the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce at 615-452-4000 or visit

Enjoy a night of original music during the 2019 Folk 'N Bluegrass Fest on the grounds of Rock Castle. You’ll hear music by the Theo & Brenna Band, Lateral Blue, South for Winter, Appalachian Roadshow, The Arcadian Wild and Band of Kelleys. There will be organized lawn games and inflatables for the kids, and the venue will be serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and craft brews. The evening runs 4 – 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the gate for adults; ages 17 & younger are free. Call 615-824-0502 or visit
