Canoe the Caney Offers Haunted Canoe Trips

A trip that's sure to shiver your timbers!

Another spine-tingling adventure presents itself in Canoe the Caney’s Haunted Canoe Trip!

Guides first lead thrill-seekers along a trail for about an hour before embarking on a 45 to 60-minute, paddle-your-own-rental canoe above the dark waters of Center Hill Lake.

The haunted canoe trips run Friday and Saturday nights through the first weekend of November with excursions departing at 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. It cost $40 per adult, $25 for children (age 12 and younger). Trips are recommended for ages 7 or older and reservations must be made in advance.

The tales begin in the 10-minute bus ride to the trail of terror. Two to three guides will accompany groups on the trail and five guides will be present while in canoes. As for the source of light as folks glide along the water, the canoes have LED lights on the bow and stern of each canoe.

For safety precautions the haunted canoe tour takes place on the mostly still waters of Center Hill Lake.

Located at 17055 Smithville Hwy in Silver Point (about one mile south of I-40 Exit 273), the trips depart every hour from 6 – 10 p.m Fridays and Saturdays through the first weekend of November. For more information, visit canoethecaney.com or call 1-800 579-7893.
