1. “THE MAGIC FLUTE” — Saturday, Dec. 2 only
The Metropolitan Opera made history in 2006 when it presented its first Live in HD production to cinemas worldwide. It was the abridged English-language version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, with the production by Julie Taymor, the director/conceptualizer of Broadway’s The Lion King. That means elaborate puppetry, costumes and lights and unbelieveable artistry from Metropolitan Opera singers. 2. “MAX LUCADO’S BECAUSE OF BETHLEHEM” — Tue., Wed., Thu., Dec. 5 – 7
Inspired by Lucado’s bestselling book, you and your family can experience the Christmas story from a different perspective. Originally filmed at Nashville’s Fisher Center on the campus of Belmont University, children of all ages will learn that the spirit of Christmas is much more than a tree with presents piled beneath it. 3. “CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: HOLY NIGHT” — Dec. 12 – 17
Experience Jesus’ birth through the eyes of Mary and those of a shepherd boy considered “unclean.” Christmas With the Chosen blends episodes of “The Messengers” and “The Shepherd” into one special remastered, rescored story.
