Lucky Ladd Farms is only a short drive from Nashville (15 minutes past Franklin) and holds a full day of interactive fun for your whole family!
My husband and I took our 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter to see the Tennessee Tulip Festival where more than 700,000 bulbs have been planted! This makes it the largest tulip display in the Southeast. The pick-your-own tulip experience is a great family activity and would make beautiful spring bouquets for your home (starting at $1.50 per flower).

There was no line when we arrived at the tulip field, so we chose to wait to cut our flowers. However when we left around 4 p.m., the line was too long for our tot to wait in. We were disappointed not to take home some bulbs so plan accordingly!
The weekend we went there was a free egg “hunt” (eggs were abundant and not really hidden), and kids could turn in the eggs for a cute gift bag of Easter related toys. There is always something seasonal happening so check their calendar.
We Could Have Stayed All Day
Even though we got there at noon, we ran out of time because there are 50+ activities to choose from on the 60-acre farm. My daughter loved the petting zoo, the spider web crawl, the mega slide, the barrel train, the wagon ride, the pony ride ($6 extra), and the toddler play area. The farm recommends two to three hours, but we could’ve stayed all day!
The farm allows outside food in for picnics and there are plenty of tables. We recommend bringing your own snacks because we paid $54 for lunch at a food truck. Lesson learned for next time!
Don’t let the drive dissuade you. This was such a delightful day, my little girl sang her way to the car and is still talking about her time at Lucky Ladd Farm! In fact, our family will be getting season passes to continue going back (pays for itself after two visits)- strawberry picking up next (estimated April 17 – June 1).
Admission
The Tennessee Tulip Festival is estimated (as flowers stay abloom) to run through April 14. General Admission to the farm for ages 2 and older (includes 50+ activities) is $14 plus a $2 fee. Barnyard Bonanza Admission (the former plus a souvenir cup with animal feed, two birdseed sticks for Adventure Aviary and two lettuce leaves for rabbit and tortise feeding) is $24 plus a $2 fee. The Farm-It-All Admission includes all of the above plus a pony ride, and a bag of gem-mining “rough.”
