Where Every Family Matters

Take Aim at Music City Archery

The "Twin Men" say they enjoyed the class tremendously and are looking forward to going back.

WHO: Karen (Mom), Grayson & Riley (8 year old twins)
WHAT: Archery Homeschool Day at Music City Archery, 1113 Murfreesboro Road, #205, Franklin
WHEN: Every Wednesday
INFO: 615-566-5187 | musiccityarchery.com

On a recent Wednesday, the “Twin Men” — Riley and Grayson — and I ventured to Franklin to check out Music City Archery’s homeschool class. When we arrived, we were promptly checked in and the boys were then given instructions on how to properly hold a bow and arrow, body placement and overall range safety.

Parents/siblings were allowed in the room to watch and there was ample bleacher seating for us to sit on. The instructors were very knowledgeable and eager to help anyone who needed assistance.

HOMESCHOOL CLASSES & BEYOND

The class lasted about an hour with the first portion of the class consisting of everyone shooting three arrows each, retrieving arrows and then shooting again. The last portion of the class was probably the most fun, as everyone was asked to blow up balloons and place them on their specified target. Once each person popped their balloon they would get extremely excited and want to try again.

The "Twin Men" say they enjoyed the class tremendously and are looking forward to going back. After the class, I met with Theresa Greer who is co-owner of Music City Archery along with her husband, Jeff. Theresa explained that she and Jeff have been archery instructors for more than 10 years and opened Music City Archery almost two years ago out of a sheer need of an indoor training facility for an ever-growing group of archery enthusiasts.

Music City Archery has an abundance of class offerings from Introductory to Archery to Advanced Training. They also have league nights, private lessons, group events and birthday parties. Music City Archery also offers USA Archery and Junior Olympic Archery Clubs.

I highly recommend a visit if you are just wanting to try archery or even if you’re a seasoned archer — they have something for everyone. Visit the website for detailed information about classes, schedules, pricing and reservations.
