Everyone’s invited to the hike-a-thon—yes, all ages! Lace up those sneakers, round up the kids, and hit the trail for a day of fun, adventure, and epic prizes.

Lace up your hiking boots (and your kids’!) and unleash your inner adventurer – TennGreen Land Conservancy’s fifth annual Hike-a-Thon is back and bigger than ever, running all month long!

This epic April-long adventure and fundraising challenge is your chance to explore Tennessee’s beautiful lands and waters, all while supporting their protection! Whether you’re hiking, paddling, trail running, climbing, mountain biking, or even snapping stunning photos, you can join the fun solo or with a team – and you’ll have the chance to score some amazing prizes along the way.

It’s not just about the thrill of the outdoors – every step, paddle, and climb helps support TennGreen Land Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving our natural treasures.

And the prizes? Oh, they’re wild this year: Hike-a-Thoners can win a private jam session for up to six people with Ketch Secor, lead singer of Old Crow Medicine Show, or a tour and tasting at the Bongo Roasting Co. in Nashville. Plus, you could snag epic prizes like kayaks from Pyranha and Jackson Kayak, a two-night stay at Wildwood Resort & Marina, adventure bundles from REI, and so much more!

Top Tips for Hiking with Kids

  • Dress kids in bright visible clothing so you can more easily spot them.
  • Pick a short, interesting hike and allow lots of time.
  • Choose a trail with a destination such as an overlook, waterfall, historic site, stream or lake.
  • Determine the best time of day to hike.
  • Pack snacks and water for your kids.
  • Bring along sunscreen, bug spray, and hats.
  • Dress in layers so they can remove clothing if they get too hot or cold.
  • Use well-known trails instead of blazing your own.
  • Let your kids help plan the hike.
  • Keep it easy and feature-friendly. For at least the first few times, select a hike that isn’t too long or too strenuous – remember that for kids, the hike is about the experience
